BlUVGE 10 Coreyi s Creek South Country Road at Blue Point The present structure, built at an unknown date, is a concrete arch with a span of 20 feet. Proposed structure to be a composite timber-concrete type of bridge 40 to 00 feet long, the new structure to improve aligmnent and grade and provide access to a landing near the southwest abutment. 2. Tuttle's Creek South Country Hoad at West P,.,td-logUe The present structure, built on an unknown date, is a steel stringer and concrete deck type of 3005 foot span. Proposed structure to be composite timber-concrete, 30 feet long. 3, Old Mill Old Mill Road at Waterville (Uattituckl The present structure is an obsolete swing' bridge in dangerous condition. 'Both abut- ments are gone, center pier is settling and badly rusted. It was built about 1910 of second-hand material. A new structure, located south of the present structure, is planned of composite timber-concrete. The new structure is to be high level with a clearance of at least 25 feet and fixed. This will improve the present dangerous alignment and grades. The proposed structure will be 650 feet between abutments with approaches built by the Town of Southold. 4. Yaphank Avenue Spillway - Yaohank Avenue, Yaoh~~ The present structure is a spillway and culvert regulating level of Lower Mill Pond. It is settling continually and in very poor condition. The proposee structure to be either a reinforced concrete rigid frame type or concrete T girder and slab bridge with a span of 40~ feet. 6., Swan Creek Bridge Swezey Street, Patchogue Present structure, built in 1912, is a con- crete arch of 25 foot span. The footings and abutments are in poor condition, the roadway narrow and the grade poor. It is proposed to replace this structure with a reinforced cohcrete rigid frame type of bridge with a span of 50t feet. 7. Turkey Bridge Main Street, Quiogue (Westhamptonl Present structure, built in 1914, is in poor condition, Concrete piers, abutments and wing walls are cracked, settling and weathered. Steel parts are badly rusted. It is proposed to cLange grades a little and ask the War De- partment for permission to buila a fixed com- posite timber-concrete type bridge about 60 feet long, 8. ~tphalia Avenue-Mattituck Present structure, built in 1918, is a rein- forced concrete bridge on concrete piles with an overall longth of 140 feet. This bridge must be rebuilt in the near future due to the locating of a new County road near its south- erly approach. The present structure is too narrow, being only 16 feet wide and is in only fair condition. The concrete is weathered and with reinforcing steel exposed in many places. It is proposed to replace this structure with a composite timber-concrete briJge 50 feet long and of adequate uidth. 10. West Creek Bridge New Suffolk Avenue. New Suffolk The present structure is a reinforced con- crete bridge on concrete piles, 90 feet long with a 20 foot roamiay, built in 1916. The concrete in the piles and in the deck is weathered and cracked with the reinforcing in the T beams exposed and rusting in many places. It is proposed to replace this :tl,'1';,ge .vi th a composite timber-concrete structure of aoout the same length and of adequate width. 11, 1.1ud Creek 13ridge New Suffolk Avenue, New Suffolk The present structure is a reinforced con- crete bridge with concrete abutrJentso It is narrow and in 'poor condition. It is proposed to replace this structure with a composite timber-concrete bridge of about tile same length and of adequate ,vidth. 12. Smith's Point Bridge (Former To\Vll bridge site) Brook- haven 9. Downs Creek Bridge New Suffolk Avenue. New SUffolk This proposed structure which will connect the mainland at Smith's Point \vith Fire Island will be a cormecting lirut between proposed Suffolk Boulevard and the proposed drive along Fire Island. The bridge will be a composite timber-concrete bridEe with two lands of 12 feet each and with adequate catwalks or sidewalks. The center span will be a double-leaf trunnion bascule lift bridge similar to the type at Beach Lane, WesUlampton, or Quogue Bridge at ~uogue. The piers and abut- ments have been repaired at various times but are now in very poor condition ~ith some of the piles exposed. The steel super-structure is badly rusted, This bridge was severely damaged in the hurri- cane of 1938. The proposed structure would be composite tinber-concrete of about 50 feet in ~ength and of adequute width" 14. Watchogue Bridge 'Natchogue Avenue, East Moriches at Hart's Cove The present structure is a steel~ing bridge with plank deck and an overall span of 50 feetp built in 1909.
