On Friday at 3:30 p.m. the Commission will meet in the Prince Building with the Historical Societies for writing the grants and also discuss the lecture series. The Commission felt that the lectures should be spread throughout the Town. Tomorrow morning Kathy Ridley is scheduled to meet with the Town Board. John Greene gave the members a copy of the draft of the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program. The Town Board will discuss with Valerie Scopaz this draft. Ralph Williams, Peter Deutsch and the folks from Orient will be at this meeting. The Oregon Road people will also be attending. Helen Keller Cottage - John Greene called the Helen Keller Foundation. They had no knowledge of this cottage and were not able to supply any information about it. They did say that in 1936 Helen Keller along with Ann Sullivan were in Greenport. Mary Jablonski suggested making some documentation of the cottage, such as pictures attached to the SPLIA file. Budget update - tentatively it is in for $40,000. John Greene will follow up on the application of John and Milton Carney and arrange to inspect their home. -2- Mary Jablonski suggested that when people submit an application, they should also send in a 4" x, 6" photo of their home. John will meet with the people in New Suffolk on November 3rd. The next meeting of the Southold Landmark Preservation Commission is scheduled for Tuesday, November 28, 2000 at 4:00 p.m. With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m. espectfully submitted, Joyce M.
