Landmark Minutes MAR 7 -1995
February 22, 1995
1. The meeting started at 7:30. Bob Bayley and Bob Kasner were excused. town Oerk 600M
2. The January 11, 1995 minutes were reviewed and accepted.
3. May 1995 Preservation Awards were discussed. A possible candidate is the Ellsworth Tuthill
House at Wolf Pit Pond. This Queen Anne style house has undergone a restoration. Ralph and
John Stack will contact the owners and visit the house. The Commission will explore the possibil-
ity of the Greenport Commission making presentations at the same meeting.
4. Since Bob Bayley has traveled to San Diego for medical treatment, the Coyle House study will
be put "on Hold". Everyone wishes the best for Bob..
5. Cliff Benfield and John Stack reported on the program Bob Kasner presented at the Southold
Indian Museum. We should all be proud of Bob. His presentation was organized, stimulating and
most informative. The large audience left with both a greater knowledge and keener interest in
Genealogy.
6. Albany returned Bob Kasners call and they are pleased to know we will support the Historic
Highway project..
7. We reviewed our Budget Status as provided by John Cushman..
8. Frank Turano's doctoral dissertion was brought in by Ralph and discussed. All agreed that
copies should be made and distributed to the town libraries and one copy be placed in the Com-
missions files. .
9. There was a discussion of the need to designate our "mile stones" as landmarks
10. John Stack resigned as Chairman and Cliff Benfield was elected unanimously ..
11. The next meeting date was set for March 16 at 7:30.
