The meeting started at 7:25 p.m. Present were: Cliff Benfield, John Stack, Ralph Williams, Toni Boyd and Bob Bayley. 2. The Mi.notes:-df the January 16, 1996 meeting were read and accepted. 3. The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for Tuesday, March 12, 1996 at 7:15 p.m. 4. The Commission reviewed the letter, responding to Supervisor Cochran's memorandum dated January 26, 1996 re: Committee Reports. This letter addressed the following questions: How often the commission meets, the purpose of the commission, recent accomplishments and future efforts. 5. A review was made of the response to Supervisor Cochran's memorandum dated January 24, 1996 re: Guide to Permit Procedures. 6. The Commission reviewed the draft of the Inspection Report, and made necessary changes. 7. A review was made of the draft for Application for Landmark Status; and changes were made. '81. Markers' mold and casting - Ralph brought in the mold. He and Toni Boyd have been working on it. Toni will research what lines would go on a sign for the Horton's Point Lighthouse and the Ben Franklin markers. 9. Status reports: Cutchogue Diner - A motion ,was 1hiade­.,by Ralph' Williams and-,seconded- bys Bob-Bayley-to recommend to the Town Board that the diner be made a landmark. All were in favor. Bob Bayley had researched the history of the diner. Toni will work on the write-up. -2- Commoners Lots - Ms. Maine sent a copy of the deed and maps to the 'Southold Town Trustees. A motion was made by Ralph Williams and seconded by John Stack to recommend to the Town board that this property be made a landmark. All were in favor. Plum Island Lighthouse - Dr. House will be invited to a meeting of the commission and will be asked to bring the list of regulations that the government has to follow and also give us a progress report. 10. Fishers Island Properties - Since the letter received indicated that Fishers Island would like to become more active in placing homes on the register, the commission felt that they would like to become more involved with the homes on Fishers Island. 11 . Record of Inspection 'Updates - a workup will be made of recent inspections. 12. Open Discussion - Bob Bayley would like to discuss the Booth House with the commission.
