Members present were: Bill Peters, Ralph Williams, Bob Kassner, Bob Bayley and John Stack. Harry Fagan and Valerie Marvin were absent. 2. The November minutes were reviewed and accepted. The December and January meetings were canceled due to weather and time conflicts. 3. The book Home Building and Woodworking in Colonial America was discussed. Items dis- cussed were: 1. What techniques in the book apply to the North Fork? 2. What information does not apply to the North Fork? 3. What information in this book will help us to date North Fork houses? The discussion brought out many points of interest. Bob Kasner brought several pieces of old tim- bers and some ancient tools and nails. Using the book, we were able to find corroboration for our interpretations of the materials. It was a good and fruitful exercise. All were agreed that the book is a fine tool to have available. 4. Recent mail was reviewed. Bob Bayley will send for the material on the Leadership Training Workshop on Preservation to be held in Saratoga Springs this June. 5. Ralph Williams filled us in on his coming trip to Winterthur Museum, in Delaware. Ralph and Elinor have an appointment with Charles F. Hummel the author of With Hammer in Hand, a fine book about the Dominy workshop in East Hampton. Ralph and Elinor have a Grandfather clock case that has all the attributes of a Dominy piece. Mr. Hummel's book has several Dominy clocks pictured. At the next meeting Ralph will bring us up to date on the history of this famous L.I. furniture maker. 6. At our next meeting on Feb. 17, all members are to bring a written or typed list of all possible agenda items for the year. With this list we will set a plan of action for the year.
