August 271990. will be discussed at the June Meeting. 9. Bill,Ralph and John met with the Southold Historical Society on April 21st at 1;30. They re- viewed houses selected by the Society for inclusion of their Historic District. A visit to the King House was most interesting. The house has been rotated on it's foundation but the celler beams show where additions were made. The first house shows 1700s age including dust stops. We also attended the meeting with the NY State reps of PRHP when they came to Southold to preview the application. The State was not very encouraging. We felt they showed a degree of short-sight- edness. 10. Ralph reported on Frank Turano's defence of his doctoral proposal at Stony Brook University. This Thesis will cover 4 years of archeological digs that took place at the Terry-Mulford House. The ammount of material collected should form the basis for several theses and a few books also. 11. Ralph, Bill and John have been helping a group in Orient with their application for a Scenic Highway designation from the DEC. We have been involved with video that will be used as a nar- ative of the highway. 12. Our next meeting is scheduled for Junel7, 1993 at 7:30 PM Submitted by: John A. Stack Chairman. May 20, 1993
