SOUTHOLD TOWN LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION
Minutes of Meeting
June 27, 1991
The Southold Town Landmark Preservation Commission met at Town Hall
this date with four members present: John Stack , Ralph Williams,
William Peters, and Robert Hayley.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved .
The Preservation Law Questionaire was filled out .
The Slide Presentation given to the Trustees of the Suffolk County
Historical Society was reviewed with a view to adding it to our
colledction of Community Educational Programs. The Cutchogue-New
Suffolk Historical Council has requested this Presentation for their
meeting in October .
Harry Fagan of Cutchogue ( in attendance) is organizing a Community
Team to assume responsibility for the care and maintenancwe of
Southoild Milestones. He has requested advice in this matter which
was duly given.
All necessary videotape footage of the Webb House has been
obtained . The Southold High School A - V Department has made their
equipment available for editing and dubbing .
The Hand House in Orient must be scheduled for videotape
documentation.
The Howard Hardy House in Mattiuck has been surveyed for its origins.
TYhe basement gives evidence of 18th century origins. The house
itself is a two story center hall house of the 19th century.
Working Meetings:
The LPC has been requested to survey the Old House on the Village
Green in Cutchogue for structural integrity and public safety. .
The next meeting of the LPC has been scheduled for July 25, 1991 at
Town Hall .
