LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION
LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING
Friday, October 26, 2001 at 4:00 p.m.
MINUTES
Present were: John Green,Mel Phaff, Herb Adler,Peg Murphy, Mary Jablonski, John
Stack and Bill Moore.
Gary Laub—70-5-5 —310 Ackerly Pond Lane—Southold—He finally got his permits.
The Commission will send a letter to the Building Department supporting the owner's
plans in the restoration of this building.
Oysterponds Historical Society's Old Schoolhouse Building—25-3-16.1 - 1555 Village
Lane—Orient—The Commission reviewed the plans for the addition of an access ramp to
be placed at the rear of the building and will let the Building Department know that the
Commission has no objection to the plans.
John Greene said they are looking for a new member for the Architectural Review
Committee. John's term is up and he is looking for a replacement. Herb Adler said he
will try and work it into his schedule and Mel Phaff will be his alternate.
Bill Moore spoke to the Commission and gave them a draft copy of the Preservation Law.
This law will stop demolition of historic homes. He is looking for the Commission 's
input on this draft of the law.
With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
