LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING
MONDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2002 AT 4:00 P.M.
MINUTES
Present were: Herb Adler,Peg Murphy,Ron Rossi, Sal Saporito, Scott Russell,
and Erin Bauer,reporter for the Traveler Watchman
Scott Russell spoke to the Commission about considering a recognition program
for historic preservation such as the Goggins Building and Cardinale's Octagon
Building. Also, the recognition of stewards of an historic house. He felt this
would be a way of rewarding people for keeping their homes as historic
landmarks. Ron Rossi suggested a stewardship award, a home award and a
commercial building award. Scott said he would help the Commission with a list.
Cutchogue Harbor House (Peter Wickham) they gave Herb the plans for adding a
dormer. There didn't seem to be any problem with it.
Herb spoke to the Commission about the Planning and Zoning Committee
meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 30, 2002. Herb and Ron will attend.
Jim Grathwohl will also be attending.
The Commission will work on a new brochure,which would give places to go for
help.
The next meeting of the Southold Town Landmark Preservation Commission is
scheduled for Monday,December 2, 2002 at 4:00 p.m.
With no further business to be conducted, the meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
