Southold Town Clerk
LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING
MONDAY, MAY 12, 2003 AT 4:00 P.M.
MINUTES
Present were: Peg Murphy,Mel Phaff,Ron Rossi, John Stack and Herb
Adler.
The Minutes of the previous meeting on April 14th were approved.
The disassembly and planned reassembly at the Southold Historical Society of the
barn on the premises of the Whitaker property was approved.
The budget to be proposed for the Commission for the year 2004 was discussed.
It was decided that the commission would ask for$2000.00 as printing expenses
to cover the costs of a bulletin to assist owners of old houses and to generally
promote interest in our landmark building heritage. This was based on a very
rough quote of$1500.00.to produce a bulletin similar to the Southold Historical
Society's Annual Report, which was produced in a smaller print run than we
would expect to do.
It was also decided to ask for$500.00 in miscellaneous expenses to cover some
informational columns of about 1/8th page in size in the Suffolk Times at monthly
intervals and to assist with an informational or training meeting desired by the
members of the Commission. (Herb Adler to check on cost of this column.)
Herb Adler will approach Joel Reitman and Sal Saporito to determine their desire
to remain on the Commission. We are waiting to hear whether Harry Haralambou
has submitted his resignation to the supervisor.
Mel Phaff is to redesign the, "Application for listing on the Southold Town
Register of Designated Landmarks."
Some preliminary drafts of items that would go on our website were handed out
and will be discussed at our next meeting.
