LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2003 AT 4:00 P.M.
MINUTES
Present were: Mel Phaff, Joel Reitman, John Stack, Ron Rossi, Sal Saporito, Larry
Jungblut, Herb Adler
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
We discussed the honoring of buildings that have been well preserved or restored in
the Town of Southold. We will be looking out for commercial, residential and barn
buildings that have been well treated by their owners. The idea is to have some sort
of a ceremony after the start of the new year before the Town Board. It is to be
hoped that the choices will be from different hamlets. This is flexible.
Mel has volunteered his wife Ruth to help with the calligraphy.
We discussed the web site for our committee. We will look into the ability of the
Town to provide us with a vital and informative web site. We feel that we already
have some data that will be of help to owners, present and prospective, in working
on their homes.
Some of the work we do for the web site will be transferable to our brochure.
