LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING
NOVEMBER 19, 1996
MINUTES
Present were: Cliff Benfield, John Stack, Ralph Williams, Deborah .
Winsor and Eric Haesche.
1 . The members welcomed Eric Haesche to the commission.
2. The Minutes of the October 15, 1996 were accepted as read.
3. The next meeting of the commission is scheduled for Tuesday,
December 17, 1996 at 7:30 p.m.
4. Status of Staffing - Judy Terry is advertising for another member
of the commission.
5. Cliff distributed copies of the Town of Southold Register of Designated
Landmarks to the commission and asked that they do a final edit,on it
before it gets printed, hopefully before the end of the year.
6. Cliff heard from Mrs. Kormendi who would like to change the name of
her house from Raff-Keuster to Cleaves-Keuster House. Cliff will
ask her to send- in documentation.
7. Report on Fort Corchaug - Deborah Winsor, has nothing to report at
this time.
Deborah Winsor attended the 50th Annual Meeting ,of the National Trust.
She attended a seminar with regard to the impact of gambling casinos
on historic areas near the casinos. Debdrah will follow-up, and try to
acquire symposium data regarding this matter. After perusing this
data, Deborah, _Ralph and Eric will work on a letter for the Board.

8. Open discussion - Ralph Williams discussed the possibility of shooting
a movie at Horton's Point Lighthouse. A copy of the setup was
given to the secretary.
A motion was made by Ralph Williams and seconded by Eric Haesche
to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 p.m.
