Box 1179 Telephone `YD ��, Southold, New York 11971 (516) 765-1801 SOUTHOLD TOWN LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING TUESDAY, DECEMBER 16, 1997 MINUTES Present were: John Greene, Bob Kassner, John Cronin, Ralph" Williams John Stack and Kimberly Gadzinski from the Traveler Watchman. 1 . Lester/Storrs House - John Green has not heard from Maureen Shea. He will check with her about the write-up on this house. 2. The commission inspected the Ted -James house and felt it is worthy of designation. - A motion was made by Bob Kassner and seconded by Ralph Williams in favor of landmark designation of this house. All were in favor. Bob will check the SPLIA file on the James house and the commission will review it. 3. John Cronin gave the results of the questionnaire that was given to the people who took the landmark course. It was suggested that a follow-up course be given in the spring and then repeat the first course again in the fall. John Stack and Ralph Williams will put together a syllabus for the course. 4. Cahoon/°Cosden Historic District - The commission received several responses to the letter sent to the owners of property in the district. John Greene left a message on Ms.- Nickolaus' answering machine. He also called Mr. Resciniti. After John spoke with him he was in agree- ment with the designation of the historic district. He also told John that he has some memorabilia from the Cosden estate. Bob Kassner will call Ed Booth re: his letter. 5. The next meeting of the Landmark Preservation Commission is scheduled for Wednesday, January 7, 1998 at 7:30 p.m. -z- New Business - Joe Townsend suggested the commission do a study of the Geier House. It should be documented before it is torn down. John Stack suggested doing it with video tape. Inspection of the house will be on Wednesday morning, January 7, 1998 at 10 a.m. With no further business to be conducted, a motion was made by Bob Kassner and seconded by John Stack to adjourn the meeting at 9 p.m. All were in favor.
