Southold, New York 11971 �yol � dao SOUTHOLD TOWN LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING WEDNESDAY JUNE 24, 1998 MINUTES Present were: John Green, Herb Adler, John Stack, Ralph Williams and Bob Kassner. A motion was made by Bob Kassner and seconded by Ralph Williams to accept the Minutes of the May 27, 1998 meeting. All were in favor. Asip application - Ralph and John Stack will get the present history from Bill Asip and put all the information together and do a draft for the next meeting. Strategy for Awards - John Green will draft a letter to the Town Clerk with the recommendations of the commission for landmark designations. The presentations will be sometime after Labor Day with a little reception afterwards. Education Program - -Ralph and John Stack have the framework in place for the first session. Fort Corchaug - the commission toured the buildings at Margot Booth's request. John Green attended the meeting of the Fort Corchaug Management Committee. They would like the Town to hire a consult- ing firm who has expertise in this area. John let them know that he had a report on the buildings, if they should want it. -2- Herb Adler has all the houses pretty much identified in the historic district in Southold. Many of the houses are on very small parcels of land. Valerie Scopaz sent a letter to John Green and asked him to work with tier on some proactive programs because the DOT is doing a big traffic study here. John will try to set up a meeting with Valerie and Herb Adler on Friday. -Pew Business - There is a house in East Marion that is owned by Mr. Maffettone. Deb Winsor stopped to 'talk to him. Ralph and Deb think it should be a designated landmark. The commission will make arrengements to inspect it on Tuesday, July 7th around 3 p.m. Bob Kassner will give the secretary the records inventory for Southold Town to photocopy. The next meeting,of the Landmark Preservation Commission is ,scheduled- for Wednesday, July 29, 1998 at 7:30 'p.m. A motion was made by Bob Kassner and seconded by Herb Adler to adjourn the meeting at 8:25 p.m: All were in favor. espectfully submitted Joyce M.
