LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION
LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING - JULY 29, 1998
MINUTES
Present were: John Greene, Ralph Williams, John Stack and Herb Adler.
A motion was made by Herb Adler and seconded by John Stack to
accept the Minutes of the June 24, 1998 meeting. All were in favor.

Ralph made several changes to the write-up on the Asip house, which
the commission reviewed.
John Stack said the commission should inspect the Harper House. John
will make the arrangements for the inspection. Bill Peters told John
Stack that the commission should look at the building near the North
Fork Country Club. If it is not moved to the Cutchogue-New Suffolk
Historical Society grounds, it will be torn down.
Continuing Education - Only three people signed up for the course, so
it was cancelled. The commission will try again for the winter months.
A motion was made by Ralph Williams and seconded by John Stack to
recommend to the Town Board that the following properties receive land-
mark designation: All were in favor.
Lester-Storrs House
James House
Greene House
Ernest House
Tate House
Asip House
Cosden Historic District

Budget - The commission discussed the possibility of getting an
intern. Also the updating of the S.P.L. I .A. file. East Hampton
has updated their S.P.L. I.A. file.
Certified Local Government Program. A motion was made by Ralph
Williams and seconded by John Stack to have John Greene contact
Lucy Beyer and enlist her help to proceed. All were in favor.
Southold- Main Street Properties - the commission would like to get
a list of all tax exempt laws, which are already on the books.
The next meeting of the Landmark Preservation Commission is
scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, 1998 at 7:30 p.m.
With no further business to be conducted, the meeting was adjourned
at 9:15 p.m.
