MINUTES Present were: Ralph Williams, John Stack, Erich Haesche, John Greene and John Cronin. 1 . The next meeting of the Landmark Preservation Commission is scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, 1997 at 7:30 p.m. 2. John Stack spoke with a Ms. Avent, she is interested, perhaps, in putting in an application. 3. John Cronin had his second session with the adult education class. Everything is going very well. Ralph said that John is doind a great job and each session is well-planned. John Green agreen with Ralph and also stated that Ralph's slides made the class very interesting. The class will be visiting Ralph's house on October 25th. John Cronin felt there is a good cross section of people in the class. John Stack suggested, perhaps, a reporter could come on the visit to Ralph's house. Erich's house will be the second house visited by the class. 4. John Greene spoke to the commission about the suggested Cosden Estate Historic District, which can be entered either on Soundview Avenue or at the Intersection of Old North Road and Mt. Beulah Avenue in Southold. The suggested area contained in the Cosden Historic District would be about 60 acres. John will contact the people in the area and, tell them about this suggested historic district. Also, it was suggested that Whitney Booth be contacted. i -2- 5. Supervisor Cochran has asked the commission to comment on the cellular towers. Ralph has been carefully looking through the proposed law. He has spoken with Town Attorney, Laury Dowd, and offered his help. 6. Wall/O'Shea House - John Greene spoke with Ms. O'Shea and she is trying to get into the Whittaker file for more information.
