LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION
LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 1999
Present were: John Greene, Mel Phaff, Ralph Williams, Herb Adler, Gordon
Moore, Dick Boardman, John Romanelli.
The Minutes of the October 22, 1999 meeting were accepted as read.
John Greene received a copy of a file for a demolition permit for a house
located on Bridge Lane and Oregon Road. John will contact the owner to
see if tie will give the Commission access to inspect the house.
The secretary had sent a letter to the Town Board from the Commission
recommending that the Mattituck Historical Society Building become a
designated landmark. It is on the agenda for tomorrow's Town Board
Meeting.
Herb read, his letter to the Commision and wants the secretary to send a
copy of the letter to the Town Clerk for discussion with the Town Board.
There are some changes suggested in the Landmark Preservation Law.
These changes were discussed with Mary Wilson,. the Assistant Town
Attorney.
The house in Orient-is gone completely, as well as its foundation and
a new one is started.
John Romanelli brought a copy of Greenpor.t's law and read some of it
to the Commission. There are 1200 houses on the S.P.L. I .A. list,
which was done about 14 years ago. John will be discussing the
certified local government with the Town Board.
Gordon read his letter. The Commission made some changes. The
Commission reviewed the draft of 'the brochure and some changes were
made.

Ralph will bring in an outline of seminars to be used.
The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for Tuesday, December 21 ,
1999 at 4:00 p.m.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
