THE SOUTHOLD TOWN LANDMARK PRESERVATION COMMISSION
MEETING - WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28, 1999
MINUTES
Present were: John Green, Gordon Wells Moore, John Stack, Ralph Williams
and Herb Adler.
The commission reviewed the map of the Orient Historic District that
John Greene put together. There 'appears to be approximately 159
properties or parcels in this district. Herb will check addresses and tax
map numbers at the assessors' office. The commission will send a letter
to all the people in the -district asking if they are interested in proceeding
with this project. John Greene has done several presentations in the
Orient area. The commission would like to get a sense of how the people
in the area feel. John will draft a letter and make copies for the members
of the commission so they can review it.
Also, the commission reviewed the resume of Stephanie K. Hall for member-
ship on the commission. The commission would like to recommend to the
Town Board that Stephanie K. Hall be appointed an adjunct member to the
commission, representing Fishers Island.
John Greene met with Mr. Collins, the architect, who is doing a report on
the house next to Town Hall.
With no further business to be conducted, the meeting was adjourned at
8:40 p.m.
