November 15, 2005 Meeting Minutes

Location: Conference Room, Town Hall Southold, NY
Attendees: Jim Grathwohl, Larry Jungblut, Peg Murphy, Mel Phaff, Ron
Rossi, and Tom Wickham (Town Board Liaison)
The October minutes were approved.
The Commission's revised 2006 budget was approved by the Town Board,
along with a restructuring of the 2005 budget to allow, among other items, the
continuation on a part time basis of the summer intern, Luc Schlager.
Jim gave an update on the application for CLG status. The final application
will need the town's approval and Supervisor's signature.
Some comments on the Luc Schlager's preliminary listing of the Town Land-
marks along with associated SPLIA Nos., Tax Map Nos., Historic Names,
Current Owners, and etc., were submitted by the commission members and
will be given to Luc for update.
Jim stated that the interviews for Committee candidates was postponed and
would be held at the December meeting. are interested and set up mutual
agreeable times for further interviews.
Ron's draft of a proposed informational brochure based upon a Sag Harbor's
brochure was discussed and several changes were noted. See attached.
Further review and discussion will be at the next meeting.
Several Southold town properties were discussed and it was resolved that the
Rackett house in Orient is on the Town register_ It was noted that the "Old
Sea Shell Restaurant" (Main Rd.) is now totally dismantled; however, it was
not on the Town register. An application for the Bohn Realty(Lighthouse Rd.)
is planned to be submitted to include this property on the register along with
the Acker House in New Suffolk. Also noted was plans for an "opening" of the
Whitaker House on Dec. 16 at which time a plaque and certificate will be pre-
sented.
As Larry's term is due to expire on Dec. 31, 2005; it was suggested that Jim
contact the Town Board to renew his appointment.
The next meeting is scheduled for 3 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2005.
