Rossi and Barbara Schnitzler. Damon Rallis (Building Dept.) attended as the

The September minutes were approved.
Jim reported on his Sept. 23`d meeting with several Fishers Island residents
who are interested in seeking landmark assistance and interested in having
the Fort Wright Complex designated as a historical district. Jim will be follow-
ing up on this with the residents as 90% must be in favor, if so, the state his-
torical authorities.
Jim also gave status report of the LPC activities and objectives to the Town
Board at today's (October 17) Town Board working session.
Peg Murphy's letter of resignation was accepted and Jim asked the LPC for a
list of possible candidates to fill her position.
Jim will be making a presentation on the Landmark Process at the Hampton
Bays Historical Society meeting tonight (October 17.)
It was noted by Ron Rossi that the specific requirements outlined in Southold
Town Law on Landmark Preservation would take precedence over the Secre-
tary of Interior's Standards for Restoration.
At the Oct. 4 meeting with several members of both the LPC and the Cut-
chogue-New Suffolk Library, it was agreed that proposals, except for the dor-
mer, would meet the LPC requirements. Ed Flaherty provided the LPC will
"Photoshop" prints of two versions of the proposed dormer. The LPC agreed
that the shed dormer would meet the requirements. Ed will go back to the
Board with the recommendations The LPC will be holding a public hearing
on the Library's application at Town Hall on Oct. 30th at 2:00 PM.
It was agreed that the revised "infomercial" be submitted to the Suffolk Times
for publication.
The letter to Landmarked property owners was reviewed and the approach to
the mailing was discussed. The mailing will also include copies of the two
LPC brochures along with a Landmark designation certificate. The package
is anticipated to be mailed in early December as soon as the Landmark regis-
ter is completed (as several additional changes were given to Damon.)
Larry handed out copies of the second LPC brochure for review and men-
tioned that Academy Printing would be able to print 500 copies for approxi-
mately $200. The time would be less than two weeks. Larry will update the
brochure to include the latest comments and have it ready for printing at the
next meeting.
Jim reported that Town Trustees approved the Stanton's application for
demolition as the building was not a Town Landmark and although the LPC
formally objected to its demolition, the LPC does not any authority over the
property.
The next meeting is scheduled for 3 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2006.
