Chairman's Comments A. Report on National Preservation Conference in St. Paul, MN. Similar challenges everywhere. Ordered LPC manual for commissioners. Importance of CLG. B. Purchase/Preservation of New Suffolk Shipyard/Holland Submarine site in New Suffolk will be completed this week, pending environmental surveys.We should offer to assist in obtaining designation as National Historic Site. (Barbara to coordinate as member of the New Suffolk Waterfront Committee.) C. Next meeting of ARC—Oct. 24 D.Congratulations to Barbara on election to Suffolk County Historical Society Board E. Sent photos of Wiles studio to Doug for Gordon Price IV. Old Business A. Continued feedback and follow-up from January 25 informational meeting: Redraft of letter and process to advise those requesting "de-landmarking"from Orient National Historic District. Kieran feels his recommended wording in revised letter(attached) is appropriate and needs no further explanation. B. Progress on Fishers Island Historic District application—Barbara Schnitzler/Jim Grathwohl C Review draft of Historic Preservation Commission Handbook. See ARC design guidelines and Roslyn and Huntington handbooks. Discuss distribution (Architects, builders, libraries, etc.) - Barbara Schnitzler/Jim Grathwohl D. New source and estimates for plaques—Mel Pfaff E. Budget submission for FY2008. Supervisor's comment. Discuss FY2007 accomplishments, new projects for 2008, i.e. awards program, lectures, speaker's bureau, road side markers, etc F. Progress on web site V. New Business A.
