HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/20/2007 Southold Town Landmarks Preservation Commission March 20, 2007 Meeting Minutes Date: March 20, 2007 Time: 3:00 PM Location: Conference Room, Town Hall Southold, NY Attendees: Jim Grathwohl, Jamie Garretson, Ron Rossi, Mel Phaff and Barbara Schnitzler. Damon Rallis (Building Dept.) attended as the LPC Administrative Assistant. The February minutes were approved. Jim recommended that the town keep the LPC involved with the Heritage and Environmental Education Center. NYC IBO Background Paper-Impact of Historic Districts on Residential Prop- erty Values was discussed and put in the LPC data base for future response. "Local Law in relation to site plan review of(Commercial) Landmarked Prop- erties" was passed. All Landmarked properties would be reviewed by LPC. A standard LPC response letters on key issues need to be developed. Draft letters to be reviewed at our next meeting. The issue of vinyl and aluminum siding appropriateness was discussed and LPC needs to review the State guidelines. The nomination of Doug Constant of Orient was discussed. The Application for Landmark status of Seth Wells/Springsteel/Pollack House, Southold was accepted with the SPLIA file to be included. The "Three Levels for a Landmark" draft document to review at our next meet- ing. Jim stated that he had joined the National Alliance of Preservation Commis- sions. The Goals and Objectives/Action Plan for 2007 was presented and needs to be prioritized at our next meeting. Hearings scheduled after the regular LPC meeting on 04/10/07 with a work session scheduled after the hearing. The next rleetin_q is scheduled for Thursday, April 92, 2007 at 3:00 PMI at Town Hall.
