February 20, 2007 Meeting Minutes

Location: Conference Room, Town Hall Southold, NY Attendees: Jim
Grathwohl, Jamie Garretson, Ron Rossi and Barbara Schnitzler. Damon Ral-
lis (Building Dept.) attended as the LPC Administrative Assistant.
The December&January minutes were approved.
Jim reported that feedback on the January 25 informational meeting was fa-
vorable with over fifty people in attendance.
Jim stated that he would handle the requests for information on forming a his-
toric district Laurel, new site of the Cutchogue Fire Department and the
Golder-Gilderseeve house in Mattituck.
Jim reported that our LPC 2007 budget of$14,000 was approved as re-
quested.
Jim said Town Board included LPC representation in the LI North Shore Heri-
tage Area Management Plan.
Jim briefly reported that the search is still continuing for nominations for a new
commissioner.
Jamie presented Poquatuck Hall's request for LPC to support the financial
assistance from the town. It was discussed but not resolved.
The question of should LPC approve vinyl siding was discussed. Jamie ag-
reed to research as to alternative products that might be available.
The question of the difference between repair and renovation was discussed
and Barbara agreed to draft a more detailed set of definitions re levels of
permits.
The question of either listing or de-listing a landmark property was discussed
and Ron agreed to draft the clarification of each.
Preliminary review of the Sutton House in Southold was discussed. Breck-
nock Hall's handicap ramp was discussed and agreed to recommend relocat-
ing it the rear.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 3:00 PM at _
Town Hall. f
