Call to Order&Approval of Minutes: • The meeting was called to order and the minutes from the October 18,2011 meeting passed unanimously. Old Business: • Damon gave the commissioners an update on the proposed hiring of an intern to update the town's SPLIA list. He explained that he was still awaiting word from the town's accounting office regarding the status of civil service approval. • Regarding the"awards program,"Damon said that the"residential"nominee had to be disqualified because of existing open violations on the property. Jamie suggested that the commissioners consider nominating the"Cohen House"on Orchard Street in Orient. Jamie said he will send photos to the commissioners for discussion. Damon also presented the commissioners with a draft letter for the"commercial"award and commissioners suggested a number of changes. • Damon presented the commissioners with a draft certificate of appropriateness for the Rose project in Orient, which was approved with no changes. • The commissioners once again discussed, in detail, the Fowler project(195 Village Lane,in Orient)and considered alternate sketches from the applicant's architect as well as alternate renderings drawn by Don Feiler. Commissioners agreed that they would be more likely to support the project if the applicant's architect adopted Don's changes. Next Meeting:December 20, 2011 at 3 p.m. in the Town Hall Annex
