Chairman's Comments • Chairman Garretson announced that he had met with Supervisor Russell to discuss incentives for historic preservation through the Community Preservation Fund. He said that Scott needed time to digest the commission's ideas and would discuss them at a future date. Commissioner Harper asked that he be included in any future meetings. • Commissioner Webb asked about the status of the ongoing"fagade" definition discussion. Chairman Garretson reported that he was discussing the issue with Councilman Dinizio. • Commissioner Parker asked if the town board would agree to the building department forwarding any and all applications related to landmarked properties to the commission. Chairman Garrettson said that the town board was concerned that it could overload the system and noted that Councilman Dinizio would like the commission to work out any logistics before moving forward. Appointments • 3:15 PM—Kevin Perry,Architect, Proposed amendment to the Campbell project, 400 King Street, Orient(SCTM# 1000-26.-2-14). o Kevin Perry explained that the property owners were interested in changing the approved window style from two over two windows to six over six, after seeing similar windows in Sag Harbor. o After a lengthy discussion, commissioners said that they were concerned that the windows were not in keeping with the history of the building or the character of the neighborhood. However, they advised Mr. Perry to move forward with an official amendment if he would like to proceed to public hearing on the issue. Old Business • Commissioner Harper gave an update on the work at 150 Baywater Avenue,Southold, which he said had been significantly completed. • Commissioners continued their discussion of the brochure update. Commissioner Webb agreed to email the new HPC logo to Commissioner Surchin who is working on the updates.
