Certificate of Appropriateness
RE: 2600 New Suffolk Avenue,Mattituck, SCTM# 1000-115.-9-3
Owner: Catherine and Robert Harper
RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS, 2600 New Suffolk Avenue, Mattituck,NY is on the Town of Southold Registry
of Historic Landmarks, and
WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 56-7 (b)of the Town Law(Landmarks Preservation Code)
of the Town of Southold, all proposals for material change/alteration must be
reviewed and granted a Certificate of Appropriateness by the Southold Town
Landmarks Preservation Commission prior to the issuance of a Building Permit,
and,
WHEREAS, the applicant's architect submitted a proposal outlining the scope of work,which
included the reconstruction of the home's original tower and the restoration of
the original front porch, and,
WHEREAS, the applicant's architect presented commissioners with an outline of the project
during a pre-submission conference on December 19,2017,and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on February 20, 2018 and again on May 15, 2018,
where the applicant's architect submitted final drawings of the scope of work and
outlined the project for the commission, and,
WHEREAS, Commissioner Harper(owner/applicant)recused himself from the hearings,
deliberation, and vote because of his involvement in the project.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,that the Southold Town Historic Preservation
Commission determines that the proposed work detailed in the above referenced application
meets the criteria for approval under Section 170-8 (A) of the Southold Town Code and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Commission approves the request for a Certificate of
Appropriateness.
