Opening:
The meeting of the Agricultural Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:05 pm on
December 19, 2018 in the Southold Town Hall conference room.
Minutes and Administration:

2 postponement of meeting minutes for November 14, 2018.
Motion made by Chris Baiz, seconded by Doug Cooper to postpone approval
of the Agricultural Advisory meeting minutes of November 14, 2018. All in
favor, motion carried.
Acceptance of meeting minutes of November 28, 2018.
Motion made by Doug Cooper, seconded by John Sepenoski Jr. to adopt the
Agricultural Advisory meeting minutes of November 28, 2018. All in favor,
motion carried.
Next Meeting:
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Wednesday January 9, 2019 at 7:00 pm in the
Southold Town Hall Conference room.
Review Proposed Acquisition of Development Rights:
No applications submitted to the committee from the Town Board or Land Preservation.
Proposed Agricultural Revisions to Town Code:
Members attended Town Board Meeting of 12/4/18 for Review of Chapter 280-4,
Definitions & 280-13, Use Regulations and submitted proposed changes to:
On-Farm Processing.
On-Farm Direct Marketing.
Definitions.

Minutes of December 19, 2018
Town Board will review submitted bullet points and offer comments to the committee on
or before January 9, 2019.
Doug Cooper to invite Heather Lanza, Planning Dept. Director to attend an Agricultural
Advisory Meeting for discussion of Town Code.
Committee to review Town code regarding Land Preservation, Agricultural PDD, Craft
beverages.
Review of Agricultural related Site Plan Applications/Sub-Divisions:
No applications submitted to the committee for review.
Tenedios barn still under site plan review, temporary greenhouse structure now under a
stop work order per the DEC. (This was a landowner referral).
Review Proposed zoning changes in Agricultural Districts:
No proposed zoning changes submitted to the committee.
Jim Glover to outline easement process with suggestions to zoning section regarding
land preservation.
Local, County, State and Federal Legislation related to Agriculture:
Discussion of the 2018 Farm Bill legislation.
Review Applications for structures related to Agriculture on parcels with Town /County
owned development rights.
No applications submitted to the committee for review.
New Business:
Discussion of solar systems on Ag land in Southold Town. USDA has grants available
for solar systems.
Town referrals to the AAC discussed.
Adjournment:
Motion to adjourn at 8:25 pm by Chris Baiz seconded by Doug Cooper.
Motion carried, all in favor.
