Tax Roll: Jonathan Stern Occupied: Owner Upon receipt of an application for a Pre -Existing Certificate of Occupancy, I made an inspection of this two and one-half story wood framed dwelling. I was admitted to building by Mr. and Mrs. Stern who accompanied me during this inspection that began at approximately 1:50 P.M. The first floor consists of a kitchen, two pantries, dining room, sun porch, living room, a study off south side of living room, and a bedroom with full bathroom on the west end of building. Second floor has four bedrooms;.a_half bathroom and full bathroom off hallway. Two bedrooms contain lavatory sinks. Bedroom at west end in addition to lavatory has room with toilet and tub. Third floor has two bedrooms. Heat is furnished to all rooms on first and second floors from an oil fired hot water furnace located in partial cellar of building's rubble stone and poured concrete foundation. Balance of foundation is crawl space. A barn converted to a living unit under Building Permit #5117Z is located on south end of property. Certificate of Occupancy for this conversion was issued on August 27, 1971, #24365. The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52, Town of Southold, New York, were found: Cellar - fuel line to oil fired furnace unprotected on cellar floor, Article V, Section 52-50 A. Stairway from first floor, no light provided for safe ascent and descent, Article II, Section 52-26 B 3. Stairway - to third floor bedrooms, stair width insufficient, winder of insufficient width, no light for safe ascent and descent, Article II, Section 52-26 B 3, Section 52-27 A. Roof - northwest end of building, shingles missing as a result of storm damage, Article III, Section 52-31 C. Panel cover has been removed from electric service box and some junction boxes are uncovered in cellar. Electric service is in the process of being changed. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in DUPLICATE to the Building Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use: 1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and unusual natural or topographic features. 2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal—(S-9 form or equal). 3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters. 4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for the building. 5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable. B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non -conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing" land uses: 1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural or topographic features. 2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings. 3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in- formation required to prepare a certificate. C. Fees: 1. Certificate of occupancy $5.00 2.
