FINAL THOUGHTS The Art Bus Project, its most basic form, is for people who think art is one thing, and that thing doesn't belong to them. It's for everyone. We assembled a group of artists that is both demographically and creatively diverse. Anyone coming to this exhibit will find familiar faces and surprising creativity. Neither artists nor art look one way. Then,we gave it wheels. By retrofitting a school bus—the most democratic and familiar of vehicles—we made it accessible, stripping away the intimidating trappings of the art world and giving me the ability to literally deliver art to people's doorsteps. Finally,we want visitors to think about what their art would look like,to show that creative minds can respond in an infinite variety of ways to the same prompts—and then to use those same prompts to encourage their own creative thinking. Our message? Everyone has an artistic muscle;they just need to flex it.
