Statement of the effect, if any, on the wetlands and tidal waters of the town that may result by reason of such proposed operations (use attachments if appropriate): The purpose of the project is to stem the erosional loss of the subject property's creekside shoreline and adjacent upland that began to severely erode and transgress landward since the recent dredging of the adjacent inlet channel to"Orient Creek"in 2017 and 2018, which widened and deepened the channel, thus accelerating the velocity and reach of the ebb and flood tides interacting with the subject shoreline. Specifically, the project seeks to stabilize the shoreline and protect against continued upland erosion with a combined hard stabilization/soft vegetative approach of placing stone np-rap along the toe of the eroding upland embankment and replacing an approximately 326 sf area of lawn adjacent to the rip-rap with a non-turf buffer planted with Cape American beach grass. Although loosely strewn stone and broken concrete has historically been present along the shoreline within the intertidal zone, the proposed rip-rap would be properly installed at an approximately 1:2 slope adjacent to the embankment;and the vegetated non-turf buffer would provide a natural sink for surface runoff and flood waters. The proposed stone would be limited to the eroding shoreline area between the existing bulkhead on the subject property to the northeast and the existing area of Spartina patens high marsh on the subject property to the southeast, where the integrity of the shoreline remains intact. Therefore, consistent with Policies 4 and 6,the proposed np-rip as designed should effectively stem the continued erosional loss of the upland without causing any significant adverse impacts on the adjacent tidal waters and wetlands of Orient Creek or causing an increase in erosion at adjacent properties or result in any other adverse impacts on adjacent properties or natural coastal processes and resources Board of Trustees App nation COASTAL EROSION APPLICATION DATA Purposes of proposed activity. Describe the nature and extent of the environmental impacts reasonably anticipated resulting from implementation of the project as proposed. (Use attachments if necessary) The purpose of the project is to stem the erosional loss of the subject property's creekside shoreline and adjacent upland that began to severely erode and transgress landward since the recent dredging of the adjacent inlet channel to"Orient Creek"in 2017 and 2018,which widened and deepened the channel, thus accelerating the velocity and reach of the ebb and flood tides interacting with the subject shoreline.
