This permit is granted as applied for, based on information supplied in the application. There are several conditions written into the permit. Please be aware that under the State Fire Code,the number of persons occupying the building and/or tent area is limited. The use of a tent will require an application and approvals at least three days before the event, from the Building Department. A Town Building Inspector must inspect the tent, before occupancy, they can be reached at 765-1802 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. This permit does not authorize parking on any lands owned by the County of Suffolk, Town of Southold or land for which an agricultural property tax exemption has been granted.All parking and traffic controls are the responsibilities of the event operators,and their agents. Note that parking on any County or State Roads are not authorized under this permit. Any violations of this permit can be cause for revocation. The Town also reserves the right to revoke any permit or deny future permits if the event(s) generates unforeseen impacts to the health, safety or welfare of residents and guests of the Town. By acceptance of this permit, applicant agrees to adequately supervise and direct all parking to be on the premises or at another site, and to provide parking assistants and any additional traffic controls necessary for this event.Parking is strictly�rohibited on ANY Town,County or State Roads or Rights of Way. 2. On-site food preparation is NOT permitted, although food may be catered subject to all Suffolk County Department of Health regulations. 9. It is registered with New York State as a charitable organization. All lectures,concerts and special events are offered as a benefit to the community and any money raised goes to the organization for operating costs and other related expenses. All programs are considered fundraisers. This particular concert series is being held in order to raise money to purchase a piano for the Custer Institute and consists of 5 concerts held over 3 weekends (within a 2 month period). The concerts will be held indoors in our lecture/concert hall and will be followed by a reception under a 32 foot diameter round tent outdoors. Lighting inside the tent will be battery powered LED Chinese lanterns. Sperry Tents will be providing the tent and Fire Marshall inspection will be coordinated by them (see attached sample of contract). There will be passed appetizers and wine tasting offered at the receptions,served by Custer staff. Suffolk County Dept. of Health temporary food service permits applications have been submitted. At dark, stargazing through the Observatory telescopes will be open and guests will be invited to view the stars. The attendance at each concert will be limited to 50. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: PREPARATION OF SITE: The renter agrees to have work site free and clear from any obstructions or obstacles. Sperry Tents Is not responsible for damage to any items that must be moved from the work site area. Pole tents and canopies must be on grass as they are staked into the ground TENT SET UP&MATERIAL% Installations and removals are scheduled during our normal business hours Monday through Friday 900am to 5.100pm unless previously agreed upon. Due to the nature of our business, evening, Sunday and holiday installations and removals are sometimes necessary. We reserve the right to not take down a tent due to weather conditions. Furthermore, adverse weather conditions may delay the installation as deemed necessary. Sperry Tents Is not liable for Injuries or damage, to persons or property occurring during the rental period up to the return of the Items, caused by fire, windstorm, rain, snow, cyclone, tornado, hail, explosion, mischief, vandalism, or any and all Acts of God. In the event of adverse weather or ground conditions, Sperry Tents may enter the premises to remove tent without any court order or other process of law, either with or without notice to you. Custer Preserve is Town owned property. The property was purchased in 2000, with funds from the Community Preservation Fund. Custer Preserve is Town owned property. The property was purchased in 2000, with funds from the Community Preservation Fund. Although not clearly stated in the Town's purchase resolution, the property was purchased primarily to preserve the land around the existing Custer Institute from any additional light pollution. It was understood at the time of purchase that Custer Institute would use part of the property for individual telescopes during celestial events and for parking purposes; the survey from the time of purchase shows a 140' x 200' parking area to the South of Custer Institute.
