Minutes of September 5, 2018
Opening:
The regular meeting of the Agricultural Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:06 pm on
September 5, 2018, in Southold Town Hall conference room.

Minutes and Administration:
Minutes of August 22, 2018 approved. Motion to adopt minutes by Karen Rivara, seconded by Chris
Baiz. All in favor, motion carried.
Minutes of June 27, July 11, and July 25, 2018 tabled until next meeting. All in favor, motion carried.
Next Meeting:
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Wednesday September 19, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the Southold
Town Hall Conference room.
Review Proposed Acquisition of Development Rights:
No applications submitted to the committee from the Town Board or Land Preservation.
Proposed Agricultural Revisions to Town Code:
Review and discussion of Town Code Chapter 280-13 Use Regulations.
Review and discussion of Town Code Chapter 72 Agricultural Uses.
Review of Agricultural related Site Plan Applications/Sub-Divisions:
No applications submitted to the committee for review.
Review Proposed zoning changes in Agricultural Districts:
No proposed zoning changes submitted to the committee.

No pending legislation related to agriculture.
Review Applications for structures related to Agriculture on parcels with Town /County owned
development rights:
No applications related to Agricultural Structures submitted to Committee for review.
New Business:
Review of Thursday, August 30, 2018 meeting between Supervisor Scott Russell, Town Attorney Bill
Duffy, Chris Baiz, Doug Cooper and Mark VanBourgondien.
Acres needed for Agricultural processing.
Building size needed for Agricultural processing.
Scale of Agricultural Buildings in relation to parcel size.
Owned and leased land considerations for Agricultural processing.
Review of Wednesday, September 5, 2018 meeting between Councilman Bill Ruland, Police Chief
Martin Flatley, Chris Baiz, Doug Cooper and Mark VanBourgondien.
Discussion of North Fork traffic issues on Sound Ave. and ideas for improvements.
Discussion of parking at Harbes Farm.
Farm and review of their promotional brochure.
Discussion of food preparation regulations and Ag & Market guidelines.
Review of the New York State Farmers Grand Fund Project from Empire State Development.
