16. There are many issues that can account for program differences resulting in variations of recycling rates. If you would like,provide an
explanation below that characterizes your planning unit. This will help us to provide more information about planning units than just a
recycling rate.
The Town of Southold maintains a yard waste compost facility that processes virtually 100%of incoming yard waste into woodchips,mulch,and-compost which
is either given away(under the Town's 500 Ib/person"free mulch"program),sold,or otherwise used by the Town. This is reflected in the yard waste recycling
figures.
