Opening:
The regular meeting of the Agricultural Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:06 pm on
October 31, 2018, in Southold Town Hall conference room.
Minutes and Administration:

Minutes of September 5, September 19 and October 10 tabled until a quorum is
present.
Meetings remaining for 2018 set up:
1. November 7, 2018
2. December 5, 2018
3. December 19, 2018
office.
Next Meeting:

The next regular meeting is scheduled for Wednesday November 7 at 7:00 pm in the Southold
Town Hall Conference room.
Review Proposed Acquisition of Development Rights:
No applications submitted to the committee from the Town Board or Land Preservation.
Proposed Agricultural Revisions to Town Code:
Review and discussion of Town Code Chapter 280-13 Use Regulations.
Review and discussion of Town Code Chapter 280-14 Bulk, area and parking
regulations.
Recommendations to the Town Board tabled until a quorum is present.

Review of Agricultural related Site Plan Applications/Sub-Divisions:
No applications submitted to the committee for review.
Review Proposed zoning changes in Agricultural Districts:
No proposed zoning changes submitted to the committee.
Local, County, State and Federal Legislation related to Agriculture:
ADA compliance regarding agricultural websites discussed.
Review Applications for structures related to Agriculture on parcels with Town /County
owned development rights.
Memorandum from Planning Board on Proposed Site Plan for Jakubiuk Agricultural
Barn.
1. Discussion pending committee review of this file in the
under Planning, Applications, Site Plans, Pending, SCTM#1000-55-1-8.3.
On-Farm Direct Marketing Permit Review:
No permit applications submitted to the committee for review.
New Business:
Discussion on water conservation issues discussed including a feature in The

Independent at 10:00 am on November 11 at
the Ross school in Easthampton.
Recommendation that Tom Stevenson head a sub-committee to follow water issues.
Discussion of food distribution methods that limit road congestion.
Discussion on year-round growing seasons for crops.
Discussion on devastation to fruit crops by the spotted lantern fly.
