SPECIAL EXCEPTION. By resolution of the Board it was determined that a special exception ( ) be granted ( ) be denied pursuant to Article .................... Section .................... (E.D.S.T.), upon application of Peconic Trading Post, Box 199, Main Road, Peconic, New York, for a special exception in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance, Article VI, Section 100-60 C for permission to erect roof sign on side of building. Location of property: W/S Main Road, Peconic, New York, bounded north by I. Newman & others; east by G. Berkoski; south by Main Road; west by L. Gozeleski. Fee paid $15.00. 2. VARIANCE. By resolution of the Board it was determined that (a) Strict application of the Ordinance (would) (would not) produce practical hardship because difficulties or unnecessary SEE REVERSE (b) The hardship created (is) (is not) unique and (would) (would not) be shared by all properties alike in the immediate vicinity of this property and in the same use distric~ because SEE REVERSE (c) The variance (does) (does not) observe the sp~it of the Ordinance and (would) change the character of the district because (would not) SEE REVERSE and therefore, it was further determined that the requested variance ( ) be granted ( ) be denied and that the previous decisions of the Building Inspector ( ) be confirmed ( ) be reversed. SEE ~ , Marjorie McDermott, Secrtary After investigation and inspection the Board finds that applicant requests permission to erect roof sign on side of building on the west side of Main Road, Peconic, New York. The Board agrees with the reasoning of the applicant. The Board finds that the public convenience and welfare and justice will be served and the legally established or permitted use of neighborhood property and adjoining use districts will not be permanently or substantially injured and the spirit of the Ordinance will be observed. THEREFORE IT WAS RESOLVED, Peconic Trading Post, Box 199, Main Road, Peconic, New York, be GRANTED permission to erect roof sign on side of building located on the west side of Main Road, Peconic, New York, as applied for, subject to the following conditions: 1. That applicant be permitted roof sign such as has been erected in lieu of a ground sign. (Ground sign is not permitted and will have to be removed). 2. That the sign shall be subject to all rules and regulations governing signs in the Town of Southold. That the sign shall be granted for a period of one year, renewable annually upon written application to the Board of Appeals.
