REGULAR MEETING
TOWN HALL ANNEX BOARD ROOM
May 23, 2018

Present: Dave Cichanowicz, Gerard Orientale, Peg Murphy, Jill Doherty, Phil Goldman,
Don Grimm; Frank Imbriano
This Regular Meeting of the Southold Town Tree Committee was called to order at 7:00 PM at
the Southold Town Annex.
Minutes from the April 25, 2018 meeting were approved.
Discussion Items:
Dave and Gerard Orientale met with the Town Attorney regarding more revisions to the Tree
Code. This "condensed" version of the Code will go before the Code Committee for their
responses to same. We hope to possibly revise the Code further before same is ultimately
presented to the Town Board at a work session.
Jamie Richter has asked that we update the list of acceptable "Street Trees" in Chapter 161.
Highway Specifications. The Committee reviewed the "old" list, decided which trees should be
eliminated and added in new suggestions. A letter will be sent to the Town Board outlining the
eliminated trees and the new trees which we would like to see on the list in in order to update the
current code.
Members once again firmed up plans to march in the Fourth of July parade, made arrangements
for Southold Town Tree Committee tee shirts to be worn, to pick up our banner and where to
meet.
The next meeting of the Tree Committee will be June 20, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Annex
Board Room.
This meeting was adjourned at 7:30 PM
