2018 SUMMER SEASONAL STAFF: Summer staff were approved at the June 5th board meeting
and an additional three lifeguards were hired on the July 3rd board meeting. Additional staff will
continue to be sought to assist with coverage due to limited staff availability and when the college
students return to school.
Swimming Lessons: Swimming lessons were conducted at both Founders Landing and Veterans
Beach. Two swim instructors were secured for the lessons, allowing us to accommodate up to 12
youth in each session. Twelve sessions in total were offered.
2018 SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES:
Registration for summer program continues. A few programs started the end of June, but the majority
started after the 4th of July holiday.
FALL BROCHURE & PROGRAMS:
The Instructor contracts and schedules have been negotiated. The contracts were approved atthe
July 31 Board Meeting. Despite the Recreation Department computers being down for several days
prior, we were able to make our deadline with the printing company. It will be an insert in the Suffolk

We have also introduced several new fitness/education classes targeting aging seniors. These
classes are taught by retired nurse, Grace Rowan:

RECREATION DEPARTMENT DEPOSITS & EXPENDITURES: Following are copies of our monthly
bank statement. Please note that any withdrawals on the bank statement are program refunds for
those participants who paid with a credit card.
