The equipment in the new Mechanical Room is not "heat-producing equipment" and therefore a fire separation or enclosure is not required. 2. The Case Storage wing where the new Mechanical Room is to be located, is a separate fire area within the existing winery. The allowable square footage of the fire area is 6000 square feet. The existing Case Storage is 3204 square feet and with the new Mechanical Room addition (180 sf), the new square footage of the fire area is 3384 square feet.
