FORM ZB4
Secretary
After investigation and inspection the Board finds that
applicant requests permission to maintain sign of excessive
size at 7055 Main Road, Mattituck. The findings of the Board
are that applicant's sign is much larger than the requirements
of the Ordinance, and applicant is directed to make the wall
sign conform to the Ordinance.
The Board finds that strict application of the Ordinance
would not produce practical difficulties or unnecessary
hardship; the hardship created is not unique and would be
shared by all properties alike in the immediate vicinity of
this property and in the same use district; and the variance
will change the character of the neighborhood, and will not
observe the spirit of the Ordinance.
THEREFORE IT WAS RESOLVED, Fogarty Incorporated, Box 1000,
Main Road, Mattituck, New York, be DENIED permission to maintain
sign of excessive size at 7055 Main Road, Mattituck, as applied
for, for the reasons stated; and the applicant is directed
to make wall sign conform to the Ordinance of the Town of
Southold within sixty (60) days from this date, April 11, 1974.
Vote of the Board: Ayes:- Messrs: Gillispie, Bergen, Grigonis.
