In response to request for an inspection to see if violations
listed in housing inspection of 10/25/76 (attached) had been
corrected:
Items / (1), (3), (4), (5), (6), have been corrected.
Under Item /2 the water heater has a shut off valve - The
kitchen range doesn't have a shut off valve at the unit, gas
can be shut off at meter on side of house.

Upon receipt of an application for a Pre-existing
Certificate of Occupancy, I made an inspection of this two-
story; partial one-story, wood -framed building. I picked
up the key from a neighbor, Mrs. Berner, admitted myself
to the building, and began this inspection at approximately
2:40 P.M.
The first floor consists of a living room, dining room,
full bathroom, kitchen, and utility room. The second floor
has two bedrooms. The building has no central heating system.
Heat is provided by gas fired space heaters located in the
living room and in the kitchen, which has a combination cooking
range and space heater. On the, second floor, there is a
space heater in the northwest bedroom. The building is con-
structed on locust posts with a partial crawl space area,
which contains an electric water pump to supply domestic
water.
The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter
52, Town of Southold, New York, were found:
1. Entries to building, kitchen and living room, no
means of controlling light upon entry, Article V,
Section 52-56 B (2).
2. Kitchen and utility room gas cooking ranges, no
shut off valve at unit, Article V, Section 52-52 B (2).
3. Bathroom, floor covering around base of toilet deter-
iorating, Article III, Section 52-32 D.
4. Living room, lamp cord outlets on baseboard, Article
II, Section 52-56 A (1).
5. Stairway to second floor, no light for safe ascent
and descent, Article II, Section 52-26 B (3).
6. Bedroom, northeast, wall fixture not securely
fastened, Article V, Section 52-56 A (1) and
A (2) .
Accessory structure located in rear yard area is used
for storage and workshed. Buildings and grounds are in good
condition. Inspection completed at approximately 3:05 P.M.
Key was returned to Mrs. Berner.

APPLICATION FOR. CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
A. This application must be filled in by typewriter OR ink and submitted to the building
inspector with the following; for new building or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines,
streets, and unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final Approval from health Dept., of water supply and sewerage-disposal(S-9 form).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Sworn stateinent from plumber certifying that the solder used in system contains
;. less than 2/10 of 17. lead.
5. Commercial building, industrial building, multiple residences and similar buildings
and installations, a certificate of Code Compliance from architect or engineer
responsible for the building.
6. Submit Planning Board Approval of completed site plan requirements.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 9, 1957) non -conforming uses, or buildings and
"pre-existing" land uses:
�1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, building and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. A properly completed application and a consent to inspect signed by the applicant.
If a Certificate of Occupancy is denied, the Building Inspector shall state the
reasons therefor in writing to the applicant.
C. Fees
1. Certificate of Occupancy - New dwelling $25.00, Additions to dwelling $25.00.
Alterations to dwelling $25.00, Swimming pool $25.00, Accessory building $25.00,
