HOUSING CODE INSPECTION
December 27, 1976
3395 Skunk Lane R-1
Cutchogue, N.Y.
Tax Roil: Michael J. Reddington, Jr. & wife
Upon receipt of an application for a Pre-existing Certificate
of Occupancy, I made an inspection of this one-and-one-half story,
partial one-story, wood framed dwelling. I picked up key from
Four Sails Realty, Main Road, Cutchogue, and began this inspection
at approximately 12:50 P.M.
The first floor consists of a kitchen, dining room, full
bathroom, living room, and two bedrooms. Second floor has two
bedrooms and a half bathroom. Heat is supplied to building from
a warm air, oil-fired furnace that is located in the cellar of
building's cement block foundation. There is one heat outlet cut
into the living room floor. This is approximately centrally lo-
cated in the building. There is an accessory, two-car garage,
structure located in the rear yard area of premises. There was
no key available and building was locked, so inspection was not
made of the interior of this structure.
The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52,
Town of Southold, New York, were found:
Kitchen - entry, no means of controlling light in room at
the point of entry, Article V, Section 52-56 B (2).
Bathroom - first floor, floor tiles around base of toilet
curled, lifted, and joints are open, Article III, Section
52-32 D.
Cellar - Open electric junction boxes, one over the fuel
tank fastened to a floor joist and the other secured to
the wall on the east end of cellar, Article V, Section
52-56 A (1). Laundry washing machine, waste line runs to
the north side of building, through the building, and waste
is discharged on the ground. Also the waste line from the
kitchen sink runs to a clay tile pipe which goes through
the foundation wall on the east side. This is not connected
to the building's sewerage system; this system is on the
opposite end of building, Article V, Section 52-51 C (1).
Interior stairway, landing at first floor level is insuf-
ficient in size, Article V, Section 52-27 A.
Inspection completed at approximately 1:20 P.M.
returned to the Four Sails Realt~.~ .
