APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Instructions
A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in DUPLICATE to the Building
Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal—(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and
installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for
the building.
5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non -conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"

Upon receipt of an application for a Pre -Existing Certificate
of Occupancy, I made an inspection of this two story framed
dwelling. I was admitted to building by Robert Adipietro
who accompanied me during this inspection which began at
approximately 1:40 P.M.
First floor consists of a kitchen; pantry; dining room,
with toilet room; two parlor rooms, and a living room.
Second floor consists of six bedrooms and two full
bathrooms. Heat is furnished to all rooms from an oil fired
steam heat furnace located in full cellar. Accessory
structures in rear yard: one car garage and large barn.
The following violations of the Housing Code, Chapter 52,
Town of Southold, were found:
Kitchen - Gas cooking range, no shutoff valve at

unit, Article V, Section 52-52 B.2. Lamp
cord with in-line switch plugged into
kitchen outlet controlling exterior spot-
light. Article VI, Section 52-56 A.1.
Toilet Room
- No window, no mechanical ventilation.
Article II, Section 52-26 A.1.
Living Room - Bedroom southwest - Bedroom southeast,
lamp cord outlets on baseboards. Article V,
Section 52-56 A.1.
Stairway
- to second floor at front entry, no means
of controlling light for safe ascent and
descent of stair. Article II, Sec. 52-56 B.3.
Cellar -
southeast corner, east window - sill rotted.
Article III, Section 52-31 A.
Accessory
Structures - one car garage - broken window
pane - siding loose and open, corner post
shifted. Art. III, Sec. 52-30 C. - Sec. 52-31
