Occupied, Martha Drumm, tenant.
Upon receipt of an application for a Pre -Existing Certificate
of Occupancy I made an inspection of buildings at this location.
I was admitted to dwelling by Ms. Purcell and began this inspection
at approximately 10:30 A. M.
The dwelling is a partial one Story and one and one half story
wood framed building constructed on a red brick masonry found-
ation. The first floor contains a kitchen, dining room, living
room, storage room, toilet room, and a bedroom. Second floor
has three bedrooms, hallway and walk-in closet. Heat is furn-
ished to building from a combination kerosene heater and cooking
gas range in kitchen and a free standing kerosene space heater
in living room. Electric water pump for domestic water supply
is located in partial cellar. A wood framed accessory storage
building is in the rear yard area.
The following violations of the Housing Code, code of the Town
of Southold, N. Y. were found.
Entry: to kitchen, no means of controlling light in room
at point of entry, Art. V, Sec. 52-56 B 2.
Gas cooking ranges: no shut off valve at units, Art. V.
Sec. 52-52 B 2.
Water Supply: no facilities for supplyigggdomestic hot
water to plumbing fixtures, Art. V. Sec. 52-51 B 4.
Plumbing Facilities: no tub or shower provided for dwell-
ing unit, Art. V, Sec. 52-51 D 2. c.
Interior Protection: loose and missing plaster, ceilings
and walls in living and southwest bedroom and hall-
way of second floor. Art. III Sec. 52-32 C.
Stairway: second floor, insufficient width of treads and
of stairway. Art. II, Sec. 52-27 A.
Stairway: exterior to cellar, treads are uneven, loose
and deteriorating, Art. II, Sec. 52-27 A. and
Sec. 52-30 A.

provide adequate protection to building. Art. III,
Sec. 52-31 A. - B.
Electrical: cellar, water pump connection, two wires, no
ground, Shut off box requires protective cover.

Bedroom: second floor, north west room accessible only
from bedroom on south west off the hallway.
Art II, Sec. 52-24 D 2.
Ceiling height for first and second floors is less than required
minimum of V-67, Chapter 100, Zoning Oridinance, Sec. 100-13,
Floor Area Livable, code of the Town of Southold, N. Y.

APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Instructions
A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in DUPLICATE to the Building
Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal—(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and
installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for
the building.
S. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non -conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural
or topographic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3 Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in-
formation required to prepare a certificate.
C. Fees:
1. Certificate of occupancy $5.00
2. Certificate of occupancy on pre-existing dwelling or land use $5.00
3. Copy of certificate of occupancy $1.00
