Upon receipt od an application for a pre-existing certificate
of occupancy, I made an inspection of this one and one half story
wood framed dwelling. I was admitted by mr Dunne who accomapnied
me on the inspection, which began about 1:45 PM.
The first floor has a kitchen, laundry room, (under renovation)
Living room, two bedrooms and full bath room.
The second floor contains a bedroom and unfinished attic.
Heat is furnished to rooms on the first floor from a gas fired
hot water furnace located in the cemment block cellar.
There are two accessory structures in the rear yard area -
an uncompleted two car garage under building permit #7585Z dated
Oct 10, 1974, which has expired. And an ingoound swimming pool
being constructed under permit #9135Z dated Mar 301 1977•
The following violations of the housing code, Chap.521 Code
of the Town of Southold, were found:
Entries: Front and rear - no means ofcontrolling light at point
of entry; Art V,Sec.52-56 B2
Foundation: Excessive water on cellar floor, leaks at various locations
Art. III Sec. 52-31 A
Electrical: Water pump junction box -no cover plate, electric
motor not grounded,open electrical junction boxes -
one on south end of girder, two on floor joist,
double outlet on N. end of girder -no plate, emergency
shut off on joist over furnace, swithch not securely
fastened, relay switch in furnace requires cover,
Art. V Sec 52-56 A 1.2.
Chimney: No thimble to receive smoke pipe, stack has large opening
at smoke pipe connection, Art III Sec 52-32 B
Toilet: Seal leaking, flooring, floor joists, and cellar floor in
area of toilet excessivly wet. Art V Sec 52-51 A(1)-(2)
Sewer Line: West side of building - no house trap, Art V Sec 52-51 C91)
Inspection completed at a roximately 2:15 PM.

APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Instructions
A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in DUPLICATE to the Building
Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal—(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and
installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for
the building.
5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non -conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural
or topographic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in-
formation required to prepare a certificate.
C. Fees:
