APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Instructions
A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in DUPLICATE to the Building
Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal--(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and
installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for
the building.
5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non-conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey.of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural
or topographic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in-
formation required to prepare a certificate.

HOUSING CODE INSPECTION

Upon receipt of an application for a Pre-Existing Certificate
of Occupancy I made an inspection of the buildings at the above
captioned premises. I was admitted to dwelling by Mr. Pollert
who accompanied me on this inspection that began at approximately
1:15 P.M.
The dwelling is a one and one half story wood frame structure
constructed on a masonry foundation. The east wing contains two
guest bedrooms each having their own separate entrance and each
contain a full bathroom. Extreme end of building is a three
story lighthouse that is accessible from a recreation room. The
second floor landing of the lighthouse provides access to the
loft that is used for storage facilities. Third floor of light-
house provides look-out facilities. The m&in portion of dwelling
on the first floor consists of a vestibule entry in the rear of
building this provides access~servants quarters which comprise of
full bathroom, bedroom and a ~itting room. There is a kitchen and
butler's pantry, a dining-breakfast room, hallway entry, three
bedrooms, a full bathroom that connects to one bedroom and is also
accessible from the hallway, living room with fireplace, a corridor
with entry provides access to formal dining, formal dining room
contains a fireplace, in addition there is a sun room that is not
heated, main entry, trophy room and full bathroom. Second floor
contains a suite of rooms comprised of a master bedroom~ a full
bathroom, study with fireplace and dressing room. Heat is furnished
to all rooms within the main portion of the dwelling from an oil
fired steam~_furnace located in partial cellar. An oil fired
hotwater f~hAa0~ provides domestic hotwater to all plumbing fixtures
within the dwelling. An accessory structure is a wood frame cottage
for the caretaker. This structure contains an attached garage with
three bays. The habitable area contains a living room that serves
as a sleeping room, a kitchen and a ikall bathroom. This unit is
heated electricall~ each room containing a wall unit operating on
its own individual thermostat.
I found no violations of the Housing Code,~hapter 52,
of the Town of Southold, N.Y.
