APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Instructions
A. This application must be filled in typewriter OR ink, and submitted in DUPLICATE to the Building
Inspector with the following; for new buildings or new use:
1. Final survey of property with accurate location of all buildings, property lines, streets, and
unusual natural or topographic features.
2. Final approval of Health Dept. of water supply and sewerage disposal—(S-9 form or equal).
3. Approval of electrical installation from Board of Fire Underwriters.
4. Commercial buildings, Industrial buildings, Multiple Residences and similar buildings and
installations, a certificate of Code compliance from the Architect or Engineer responsible for
the building.
5. Submit Planning Board approval of completed site plan requirements where applicable.
B. For existing buildings (prior to April 1957), Non -conforming uses, or buildings and "pre-existing"
land uses:
1. Accurate survey of property showing all property lines, streets, buildings and unusual natural
or topographic features.
2. Sworn statement of owner or previous owner as to use, occupancy and condition of buildings.
3. Date of any housing code or safety inspection of buildings or premises, or other pertinent in-
formation required to prepare a certificate.
C. Fees:

Upon request of the Southold Town Building Department, I
made inspection of this one family, one story framed dwelling
and found the following violations of Chapter 52, Housing Code
Town of Southold. I was admitted to rear porch entrance by
Mr. Williams who accompanied me during inspection which began
at approximately 9:30 A.M.
Enclosed porch: unheated -no switch to control light at point
of entry -Section 52-56 B-2. Lamp cord outlet for wall lamps
plugged into light fixture which is controled by switch in
kitchen. Section 52-52 A-1.
Bathroom: flooring deteriorating at base of toilet -
Section 52-32 D.
Bedroom: northeast -closet light wired with lamp cord, several
lamp cord outlets in room --Section 52-56 A -l.
H allway: Chimney for floor furnace exposed and does not
have sufficient clearance between floor and ceiling. Section -
52 -54 B.
Living room: several lamp cord outlets in room. Sec. 52-56 A -l.
Cellar: outside entry -one step not fastened to stringer on
one side-step uneven -Section 52-15 & Section 52-30 A.. Two
openings in foundation on south wall --Section 52-31 A &
52-63 B.
Exterior: front entrance -porch and stair steps deteriorating.
Section 52-15 & Section 52-30 A.
Inspection completed at approximately 9:50 A.M.
