Public Hearing  John Nicoletti for 53245 Main Road Corp., 53245 Main Road, Southold (SCTM# 61.- 1-8.1). Proposed commercial sign and new gutters on a landmarked property in the Southold Town Historic District. o Mr. Nicoletti presented the commission with detailed drawings of the proposed sign which will be black and white, which he said would be installed per town code requirements for square footage and distance from the street. o Mr. Nicoletti also presented the commission with specs for the high-gloss white aluminum gutters that he would like to install on the front of the building (porch) which he said were necessary because of water issues they were having. Resolution #12.19.17.1 – Passed: Unanimous  Resolution #12.19.17.1, commercial sign and alterations (new gutters) at 53245 Main Road, Southold (SCTM# 1000-61.-1-8.1). (A full copy of the resolution is on file in the Southold Town Building department). Mover: (Webb) Pre-Submission Conference  Jeff Shayne, 20 Vincent Street, Orient (SCTM# 1000-26.-1-6). Additions and alterations to an existing single family dwelling. o Mr. Shayne presented new drawings in response to the commission’s recommendations at the November meeting. Commissioners agreed that the new drawings were more in keeping with the district. o Mr. Shayne explained that he would be replacing all of the windows as part of the renovation project using two-over-two divided light wood windows. Commissioner Surchin suggested that Mr. Shayne use Andersen A-Series windows. o Mr. Shayne explained that he may want to replace the roof and was considering an entire asphalt shingle roof. Currently there is a mix of asphalt and tin on the roof. Commissioners agreed to look at the roof in person and investigate the most appropriate roof material for the structure before making a recommendation. Pre-Submission Conference  Robert Brenner, Architect, for Robert and Catherine Harper, 2600 New Suffolk Avenue (SCTM# 1000-115.-9-3). Proposed additions/alterations to an existing single family dwelling on a landmarked property. o Mr. Brenner presented the commission with plans to reconstruct an original tower that was on the residence but was lost to a fire and never rebuilt. It is the intention fop the applicant to reconstruct and replicate the original tower, as well as restore the front porch. An application to the building department will be forthcoming. Construction of a proposed accessory shed on a landmarked property in an historic district. o Mr. Lewis showed commissioners a rendering of a proposed shed that will also be subject to a variance from the Southold Town Zoning Board of appeals because of its front yard location on Willow Street. o Mr. Lewis proposed two possible locations on the East and West sides of the property. Commissioners agreed that the West side was the most desirable location because of its proximity to neighboring accessory structures. o Mr. Lewis agreed to redesign the roof line to better match the roof lines of the neighboring sheds. Meeting Adjourned  The meeting was adjourned unanimously on a motion by Commissioner Harper and a second by Commissioner Surchin.
