Dear Trustees:
I am writing to request that you inspect the above men-
tioned property if you can fit it into your schedule on
Thursday. I recently submitted an application to the Town
Building Department for a small addition on the above
existing residence. The seaward edge of the addition is approx.
100' from MHW and 80' from an existing bulkhead. I would appreciate
it if you could take a look at it an inform the building department
that it is out of your jurisdiction (beyond 75'). They indicated
to me that the survey was a bit unclear and they might send it
on to you to inspect.
Enclosed is the property survey with the addition drawn in
and a letter from the NYSDEC stating no jurisdiction (because of
the existing bulkhead).
To find the house turn left off New Suffolk Rd onto Old Harbor
Road (about one mile south of the Cutchogue Firehouse). Take
Old Harbor Rd. to the end and turn left into the last driveway/right
of way. The Sargeant house is the second house on the right,
with the basketball hoop.

Landward of the 10' above mean sea level elevation contour on a
gradual, natural slope.
Landward of the topographic crest of a bluff, cliff or dune which is
greater than 10' in elevation above mean sea level.
Listed in Part 661.5 of 6NYCRR (Tidal Wetlands Land Use Regulations)
as a use not requiring a permit or notification letter of approval.
Therefore, no permit is required under the Tidal Wetlands Act (Article 25
of ~he Environmental Conservation Law). Please be advised, however, that
no construction, sedimentation or disturbance of any kind may take place
seaward of the 10' contour or topographic crest without a permit. It is
your responsibility to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken to
prevent any sedimentation or other alteration or disturbance to the
ground surface or vege.tation in this area as a result of your project.
Such precautions may include providing adequate work area between the
10' contour or topographic crest and the project (i.e. a 15' to 20' wide
construction area) or erection of a temporary fence, barrier, or hay
bale 5erm.
Please note that any additional work, or modification to
described, may require authorization by this Department.
