Dear Mr. Ramsey:
With regard to letter dated April 17, 2018 from Shamrock Tree Company
requesting to trim the noted tree that is on your property and to remove a small
dead tree, the Board of Trustees determined that the tree may be trimmed, the
dead tree removed and the noted stumps may be ground. You may also slightly
elevate the crown of the maple tree. These trees may NOT be taken down.
Any other activity within 100' of the wetland boundary requires a permit from this
office.
This is not a determination from any other agency.

To whom it may concern,
I,Jonathan Shipman, owner of Shamrock Tree Company and Board-Certified Master Arborist
NY-11596 inspected a property at 1160 Oakwood Dr. Southold at the request of Greg Ramsey.
Among the suggestions I made and work we discussed there was some within the 100' mark of
high tide. This includes the grinding of several stumps, as they could easily be tripping hazards
and potential safety hazard.There was also a small dead tree,that is another potential hazard,
and should be removed.Along with removing these hazards, I recommended removing dead
wood from the large maple closest to the water as well as slightly elevating the crown following
ANSI specs. The pruning on the maple will allow the client to safely utilize the space below,
improve air circulation in the crown helping to suppress possible leaf disease, and improve the
view of the creek. All work will be done in such a way to have no negative impact on the
ecologically sensitive area, and will be directed by myself a Board Certified Master Arborist. If
