As per our conversation I have attached our SCTM and other information you requested to discuss with the Trustees and the town attorney. As I mentioned, our neighbor James O'Malley had offered to pick up garbage along the shoreline and a few downed branches prior to the town pick up so we said that sounded okay but what he actually did was to hire a few guys to "clean up " the preserve and was stopped by our neighbor and the marine police. I happened to be away that week so my co-worker Dan Heston attended the call. Had I been in town I would have worked with Jim on picking up garbage but never have allowed the sort of work he did on our preserve. While he cleared up the dead fall and cut 2 clumps of invasive privet on the site I think the understory will grow back quickly. As you know we have always kept that preserve in a natural way and clearing a wetland area is not something the land trust would ever do. I think this is a case of misunderstanding between ourselves and a volunteer. James O'Malley has been summoned to court on May 16th and we would like to know if there is something we/he can do to alleviate the situation?
